Greetings,
I am driving WRF with GCM output from CESM2, and I had a question about the lower boundary. I only have the 3-D fields (T, u, v, q, etc.) at 6-h intervals however. If I were to use daily averaged 2-m temperature and specific humidity, and surface skin temperature from the GCM to drive WRF, would this be an issue? To my knowledge, the lower boundary is not updated at 6-h intervals; only the lateral boundary tendencies are updated at 6-h intervals. More specifically, the 2-D fields mentioned are just initialized, but are subsequently calculated online by WRF regardless of the information from the driving data (the GCM).
Thoughts and comments are appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
