Transfer /copy WRF output file from Linux to Windows

Postby Bilal » Sat Feb 11, 2012 10:36 pm

I hope everyone is doing great!

I am new user of WRF. I have a problem to copy/transfer WRF output file from Linux to Windows.

As we know that WRF-ARW output file has a following file format (netCDF).

I want to copy/transfer this file from Linux server to windows system but I cannot because Windows did not accept the this file format (_00:00:00).

I can copy/transfer this file by removing _00:00:00 but after that this file (wrfout_d01_2011-10-21) is not in netcdf format.

I want to use Hiphop (IDL) to visualize this file-when I opened it in the hiphop then I got the error that this file has an invalid netcdf format.

Anyone know how to copy/transfer the WRF output file same as it is 'wrfout_d01_2011-10-21_00:00:00' in windows system?

How can I use this file (wrfout_d01_2011-10-21) in the Hiphop?

You kind response will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi I know this pot has years but nobody ever answers my posts so I'll reply so that other users facing the same problem can read. you have to rename the file to . The important part here is the .nc so that your software recognizes it.
