Dear all,

I would like to plot domains based on my namelist.input or namelist.wps using wrfdomain wizard.
I tried but with no luck. Has anybody tried it.
Thank you very much in advance for your replies.

You can use the WRF plotgrids.exe utility to plot your domain (outside of WRF Domain Wizard).

You can also save your domain as a JPG image from the pull down menu, and then print out the .JPG file.

Is there any other way to plot domains from a namelist file? I can run plotgrids, but I am unable to view the output using idt as I get the following error:
Code: Select all
reading stdout of translator: Illegal seek
Translator aborted

I don't know of another way, but you might want to ask the WRF people at NCAR:
wrfhelp@ucar.edu

They should know if there is any other tool you could use.

Hi guziy,
a way to produce domain plot based on namelist is using NCL.
Here you find an example which worked for me
