./ungrib.exe: error while loading shared libraries

Having problems running the WRF Preprocessing System (WPS)?

./ungrib.exe: error while loading shared libraries

Postby Iqbal » Wed Oct 23, 2019 5:20 pm

Hello,
I am trying to give a run after successfully installed WPS and WRF v4. But for ungirb following error showing

./ungrib.exe: error while loading shared libraries: libpng12.so.0: cannot open shared object: No such file or directory

I searched for libpng12 in my whole system using "find" command. But No such file or directory.

What to do in such situation?

Would you please help me out?

Thanks
Iqbal

Hello, you should have libpng SOMEWHERE in order to compile WPS. At runtime, you must add your include folder containing the .so file to LD_LIBRARY_PATH shell variable. Command would look like:
> export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="your/path/to/include:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH"

I recommend you to work your way through compilation with official WRF tutorial:
https://www2.mmm.ucar.edu/wrf/OnLineTut ... torial.php
If you did so, your path should be $DIR/grib2/include

Hope this helps.
