I’m conducting a idealized case to study the influence of a bubble SST on the atmosphere aloft.

I think the b_wave case fits my needs best, because it uses a 2-d input_jet to build the initial conditions.

I have no problem running the default case. But when I tried to use my own input_jet, wrf boomed, even without any SST forcing.

I built the input_jet with uniform westerlies (u=constant and v=0), and thermal balanced (with meridional gradient) pressure, density and potential temperature without water vapor (micro-physics=0).

I set the dx=10000m and time step=1s, other settings were the same as default. The model could run stable for 6 hours, but then non-linear cascade came in.

I don’t know where went wrong. Did I built the input_jet right? How to overcome the non-linear cascade?

I’m new in idealized run, any help would be appreciated.

Recently, I am also doing the job like this.However, this input_jet file does not like the input_sounding file which is easier to be rewritten.So i do not know how to rewrite the input_jet file. Can you give some hepuful advice.
