configure wrf

All things involving the setup (compiling, NetCDF, etc.) of the WRF Model itself.

configure wrf

Hi,

1) How to configure WRF for PU execution? Any documentation on the same?
2) Which are the physics packages, implemented for GPU execution?
3) Any particular version of WRF, which support GPU?
4) Does WRF4.0.2 support GPU execution?

Thanks.

Ancy...

There are bits a pieces of code for GPUs in WRF, none of them documented. I wouldn't waste my time
trying.

Would this be useful to anyone if it was compiled by the way?

Yes, a fully supported WRF for GPU's would be wonderful. FV3 would be great too.

BRIDGES/PSC has GPU's. I do a lot of WRF runs there in support of the NOAA Hazardous Weather Testbed
experiment.

The one big "gotcha" may be that WRF usage will decrease, at least of us, as FV3 ramps up. I'll be running
FV3 SAR this spring on STAMPEDE2/TACC.
