liquid-water mixing ratio

Postby MfE » Mon May 18, 2015 11:41 am

Hello,

I am trying to calculate the cloud fraction, but I need some help...
Looking for it in WRF documentation I saw they follow Xu-Randall, the same way GFS does: http://www.emc.ncep.noaa.gov/GFS/doc.php#clofrac
But I find lot of problems to calculate ql (the liquid water mixing ratio). I tryied hard to find in WRF code a way to calculate it but it was impossible for me.
I would be so grateful if someone tell me a formula, approximation or whatever is needed to obtain the liquid water mixing ratio.

Thanks for your help.
