WRF Radiation Output

Postby vlara » Mon Oct 06, 2008 12:02 pm

Hello everybody:

I'm working with WRF hourly solar radiation output. I wold like to know if the raditation yielded by WRF is an instantaneous value or rather it corresponds to the hourly integrated/averaged period just before or after the time step reported.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards

To my knowledge, the values in the wrfouts are valid for a single radiation time step (radt in namelist). So, hourly model output may not be representative for high resolution domains (using radt < 5 min), but should be OK for coarse domains.
