Need some help! I'm working with cldfra (cloud fraction) but now i have a doubt...

Cloud fraction is equivalent to cloud cover for the WRF- ARW?

How can i find the definition of cldfra??

someone knows how model calculate the TCDC (Total cloud cover %) ? Thanks.

the model uses Xu-Randall method, in this link you can see the formula:
http://www.emc.ncep.noaa.gov/GFS/doc.php#clofrac

the problem is that I don't know how to calculate ql, the liquid water mixing ratio.
Do you have any idea?

with that formula can i calculate cloud cover? or something similar (i need cloud cover/could fraction measured in OKTS, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Okta)

For model results we define the model cloud-base height as the height above which cloud liquid water content exceeds 0.025 g/cm^3; define the model cloud-top height as the height below which cloud liquid water content exceeds 0.025 g/cm^3.
