WRF Performance on Haswell

Postby hlung » Tue Feb 24, 2015 2:42 pm

Does anyone know the WRF performance on Intel chips such as Haswell?
I was told that IvyBridge performs better than Haswell. Is that true?

Thanks,

I can't speak directly to your question, but I'm using a 16 core Intel Xeon machine, and I found turning off hyper threading and giving mpirun only 14 processors gave me the best performance. I assume the intel compiler would do much better as well but I haven't got my hands on that yet.

(Using WRF 3.6.1 compiled with gcc)
