WRF - CUDA HELP

Postby luddia » Mon Nov 05, 2018 11:28 am

Hi Guys,
I am dealing with WRF model and studying it. I would like to use the NVIDIA GPUs in order to run it.
I looked many sources about this theme and I discovered the existence of a WRF - CUDA code from that I cannot download anywhere. Is it possible to access the code? If yes, where?
I would like to thank you in advance.
I am looking forward to your feedback.

Hi...

None of the code has ever worked. I think it was for one microphysics scheme many releases ago.

There are hooks in the code, all undocumented, and apparently never enabled.

File "run/README.namelist" says for "ra_lw_physics" and "ra_sw_physics":

= 24, fast rrtmg scheme for GPU and MIC (since 3.7)

Although this one sounded promising, I decided to not use it and stay with "4". This was on STAMPEDE2
MIC nodes for HWT (NOAA Hazardous Weather Testbed) last spring. I would have no way of knowing if
something was wrong. I've not heard of anyone else using this, so I've ignored it.
