Post processing of met_em file onto wrfpost grid

Postby ddrob » Tue Jul 22, 2008 7:23 pm

Does anyone know of a convient way to 'post processes' the met_em files generated by metgrid.exe onto the same output grid as the one resulting from the wrfpost. In other words, interpolate staggered U, V, etc fields onto the same grid as wrfpost, but yet retain all of the altitude levels of the orginal input fields.

Thanks in advance.

You could just run real.exe, run wrf for 1 time step, and use the subsequent wrfout file for ingest into wrf post-processor. should run pretty fast.

Remember that metgrid is just the input data that has not yet been vertically interpolated to the wrf model levels. Real.exe does the vertical interpolation I believe.
The wrf post processor is expecting data on sigma coordinates, I think.
