Where to find WRF Potal/Domain Wizard during shutdown?

Postby jc_uniol » Tue Jan 22, 2019 8:57 am

Hi all,

I've just started working with WRF-ARW and, as the headline says, would love to find a mirror to get the Domain Wizard. Unfortunately the NOAA website has closed all non-essential areas due to the shutdown (https://esrl.noaa.gov/gsd/wrfportal; try it if you're unsure) and I can't seem to find any mirrors. Does anyone know of a good ftp site that has it? Or even a Google Drive location?

Thanks and best regards,
Jon

Jon...

I doubt there is a mirror, and if there is one, it would be another NOAA site, which doesn't help.

Thanks for the quick reply, Kevin. Do you use the Domain Wizard yourself? I've asked around my working group and nobody here uses it, oddly enough.

I've never used the "Domain Wizard". We run our own ARPS software for preprocessing runs, then let
"real.exe" and "wrf.exe" take over.

The site you reference in the original posting has returned now that the shutdown is over.
