Missing date in ARWpost

Postby ckbenjamin » Tue Oct 25, 2011 10:22 am

Right.
I have a wrfout file for 2009-1-1 to 2009-3-31 with an output history of 24 hrs so thats 90 data points

When I do a ncdump for 'times', I can see I have all the data in the wrfout file for 90 days.
I did a ncview of the file and verified that the data 'appears fine' for 90 days.

But when I run ARWpost, it can't seem to find any data after 2009-1-31
My namelist is for 2009-1-1 to 2009-3-31.

Processing time --- 2009-01-29_00:00:00
Found the right date - continue

Processing time --- 2009-01-30_00:00:00
Found the right date - continue

Processing time --- 2009-01-31_00:00:00
Found the right date - continue

Processing time --- 2009-02-01_00:00:00
Date not in this file - see if there are more files
--- WE HAVE RUN OUT OF INPUT FILES ---

Any idea?

did you verify that the time in the netcdf file is the same as the time that ARWpost is looking for?

my ncview -v Times says my wrfout has all dates running daily from 2009-1-1 to 2009-3-31.
My ARWpost namelist has indicated from 2009-1-1 to 2009-3-31.

It could find the dates from 2009-1-1 to 2009-1-31 but starting 2009-2-1 it has problems.

although I dont use ARWpost, It looks strange..

may be stupid question to ask, Since error message is saying no more input files, are all the links given valid.?

one thing you could try to print out all the input file names it is grabbing by putting a print statement somewhere in the module_get_file_name.F90(?).

remember that the date variable is a string. It is looking for EXACT matches. So if one string says:
"2009-02-01_00:00:00"
and the other says:
2009-02-01_00:00:01"

Then that could be your issue.

I met the same problem as you
I run a 3 months case,but when I run post procedure of wrf using arwpost, the errors come out, that is ,

Date not in this file - see if there are more files
--- WE HAVE RUN OUT OF INPUT FILES ---

whatever I edit the interval_seconds in namelist.arwpost the errors are the same, and arwpost only give me one month result and the other 2 months' results are all missing.
So can anyone give me some advice on this?
thank you

@cycle_13
may be a possible bug in the arwpost. I humbly suggest you to contact wrfhelp.

please keep us updated if you make any progress.

Hey, I am having the same problem...I have all files, I can see them through ncview but when I run the ARWpost 3.1 it's impossible to do the post-processing...By reading this post I tried the version 2.1 and it worked.

Hi,

I'm having the same problem, but on 1980-02-01_00:00:00. But i fixed it
There is a problem when arwpost 3 is looking for the right time. While the program ir looping in time, it does a diference between the loop time and the wanted time, and that diference isn't using "month", so, in my case, when the program get on 1980-01-01_00:00:00, it calculate zero in the diference, broking everytinng. To fix that, change in ./src/module_date_pack.f90 the line 706:
seconds = second + 60*minute + 60*60*hour + 60*60*24*day + 60*60*24*365*century_year
for:
seconds = second + 60*minute + 60*60*hour + 60*60*24*day + 60*60*24*31*month + 60*60*24*365*century_year

copile and run!!! :D
