myjsfc scheme for this pbl option

Issues with running 3DVAR.

myjsfc scheme for this pbl option

Postby ashfaq » Sun Aug 10, 2008 8:02 am

Dear Forum members,
I'm new to WRF. Now I've successfully run the WRF version 3 model in Linux PC with Intel compilers. The only problem is when I try to run the wrf.exe with myjsfc scheme, changing the namelist.input file's pbl scheme=2 then the following error comes:
--------------------------------FATAL CALLED ---------------
module_physics_init: use myjsfc scheme for this pbl option
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is there any solution?
Thanks in advance

The MYJ PBL scheme can only be used with the MYJ SFC layer scheme

Just to make the point real clear, the solution given by jimmyc means that in the namelist.input file, the following parameters must be set:

sf_sfclay_physics = 2, (Revised MM5 Monin-Obukhov scheme).

AND

bl_pbl_physics = 2, (Mellor, Jamada, Yanyic).

If you want to know more combinations of Planet Boundary Layer and Surface Layer, go to this document: http://www2.mmm.ucar.edu/wrf/users/docs/user_guide_V3/users_guide_chap5.htm go to the "Description of the Namelist Variables" section, and check the bl_pbl_physics.
