You should make a program that reads your data and write them in little_r.

This presentation has some info about little_r format http://www2.mmm.ucar.edu/wrf/users/wrfda/Tutorials/2012_July/docs/WRFDA_obsproc.pdf (page 20)

This program writes data in little_r (may help) : http://www2.mmm.ucar.edu/mm5/On-Line-Tutorial/little_r/extras/upa.f

Same site where I got the code: http://www2.mmm.ucar.edu/mm5/On-Line-Tutorial/little_r/little_r.html

Dear all,

We are trying to use the upa.f for the WRF to convert the synop data into little_r format.
Until now we use only the parameters of pressure, wind and temperature, but now we would like to move on the precipitation.
Could you let us know how to give the precipitation as an input to the upa.f program?

Thank you in advance,
Hrach
