I have been following some of the topics here that discussed use of landcover datasets other that the USGS. I have followed the instructions in http://www.mmm.ucar.edu/people/duda/fil ... hires.html to use NLCD 2001. I have thus far been able to (1) download data from the website, and (2) remap the land use categories in the NLCD according to the categories that are defined in LANDUSE.TBL (i.e., 1 to 33 ). I have also (3) created the index for the data,
description="33 Category USGS using NLCD 2001"
saved it in the same directory as the data tile, (4) added an entry to the GEOGRID.TBL as follows:
interp_option = 1s:four_pt
and (5) appropriately changed the namelist.wps for geog_data_res. However, when I ran geogrid.exe, although the log file is saying the the program completed successfully, inspection of the log file revealed that the program used the default data source for LANDUSEF because it couldn't find the data source for the resolution that I set in my namelist.wps (i.e. 1s). Below is a clip from the geogrid.log:
2012-04-15 18:05:02.881 --- INFORM: Using 1s interpolator sequence for LANDUSEF.
2012-04-15 18:05:02.881 --- INFORM: Using 1s data source for LANDUSEF.

2012-04-15 18:05:02.881 --- INFORM: Using default data source for LANDUSEF.
I would greatly appreciate some ideas on why this is so, and on how I can solve this particular difficulty. Thanks so much in advance.
