Unavailability of gfs.tccz.pgrbfcc.grib2

Postby jgomoga » Fri Jan 16, 2015 12:43 am

I have been downloading this set of data up until 14 January 2015. It suddenly became unavailable and is currently not shown on the list of products. Just wondering if this products have been relocated or have become obsolete?

Could someone post what it was replaced with?

According to wrfhelp, it was replaced with gfs.tCCz.pgrb2.0p50.fFFF and a new GFS Vtable (http://www2.mmm.ucar.edu/wrf/src/Vtable.GFS_new). However, it doesn't seem to be that simple of a swap.

I have tried:
pgrb2
pgrb2b
pgrb2full
with varying errors.

Is there any documentation on these GFS files?

NCEP changes are always announced well in advance via mail lists or this site:

http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/pmb/changes/

The GFS changes are described in the following note and the links contained therein:

http://www.nws.noaa.gov/om/notification/tin14-46gfs.htm

Fortunately, major changes don't happen very often.

I am sorry if I post to a wrong group/topic. If so, please direct me the correct group.

I am trying to contact the admin. (I suppose it's Malonso), but I don't know how to do it. I could not find his email address. MY question is that we tried to access the forum from the following proxy ports:

114.160.237.62
114.160.244.6
114.160.196.155

and got no response. Do you know if these IP addresses are acceptable to the Forum?

Thanks,
