Can WRF be run with multiple datasets?

Postby carlspangrude » Tue Jul 17, 2018 1:35 pm

Hello all,

I am wondering if it is possible to use more than one atmospheric dataset when using WRF.

For example, could I have both GFS and NARR data used in a model? I realize some datasets overlap to a certain degree. However my understanding is that some datasets have a higher resolution at certain levels of the atmosphere than others.. could I use one dataset for one range of levels and another dataset for another range?

Just curious if this is something that can be done with the current version of WRF.

Thanks for reading!
