WRF modeler survey for Cloudrun

Postby cloudrun » Thu Sep 21, 2017 1:20 pm

Dear WRF modelers,

We are building a cloud computing platform that will provide end-to-end WRF modeling service on-demand. It is called Cloudrun and you can read more about it here: https://cloudrun.co.

Cloudrun's goal is to help solve 2 major problems in numerical weather prediction:

* The need for on-site compute clusters.
* The need for in-depth expertise for setting up and running the models.

We are getting closer to our public Beta release and would like to offer free start-up credits to anybody who would like to try it out. You can request early access by writing to accounts@cloudrun.co.

However, we do need your help. We need to better understand our potential users, and identify the main difficulties they encounter in weather modeling. It would help us a lot if you take 5 minutes to complete our survey:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIp ... sp=sf_link

Thanks so much for your help and any advice that you may have. Please don't hesitate to contact us directly anytime at hello@cloudrun.co.

As someone who does a *lot* of runs at the same time during the spring and summer for NOAA experiments, I know you have big challenges ahead.

Good luck!
