Time dependent SST in idealized experiments

I am wondering about the best practice of updating the SST in the idealized experiment (e.g. em_b_wave).
What I want is to read SST at two time steps, e.g. t=0 day and t=1 days, SST will be interpolated linearly in between and keep constant after that.

It's possible to modify the WRF code directly (solve_em.F), but I suppose there are other ways which are more natural/easier?

Do you have any suggestion or have you done this before?

Hi

I met the same problem with using a time-dependent SST .nc file (from another model) in the em_b_wave case. Did you have any solving with this? The User guider mentioned adding the" sst_update ",
but it needs to provide "wrflowinp" file. Looking forward to your response.
